Yes, you heard me…
Last night Breeah and I enjoyed a belated Valentines Day celebration (due to work schedules on Tuesday) at the Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament at the Arundel Mills Shopping Center in Hanover, MD (in-between, but nearer to Baltimore than Washington).
Why Medieval Times? Well, I remember passing the one in suburban Chicago (Schaumburg, IL) countless times as a kid en route to my Grandmother’s house before finally getting to go sometime in the early 1990s. I have fond memories of the half-chicken you are served freaking me out (it looked too real to me!). When Cable Guy hit the big screen in 1996 – it cemented Medieval Times as a legend among historically-themed dinner theater franchises in the United States (can you name any others?)
So yes, I can now tab the Medieval Times in Chicago and Maryland as visited. The franchise, which opened in Mallorca, Spain before coming to the States in 1983 (Orlando was the first location – makes sense). There are now eight in the U.S. and one in Canada and no – I will probably not be making an official list of these on the places I’ve visited. But, yes, I’ve been to two of them, just as many continents as I’ve been on. I get around…
Sorry for the couple of fuzzy photos below, but I was stuck with my iPod as the only means of documenting this…
I count and map all the breweries and brewpubs I’ve visited (269 presently). I don’t see why you shouldn’t do the same with Medieval Times. Flaunt your geo-geekery!
I’ve seen that brewpub list of yours and it’s grand. I dunno – Medieval Times is relatively easily collected, but I don’t know if I’d want to go out of my way to hit them up for pretty much the same show if I happen upon the six others in the U.S. That said – who else could say they’ve been to every Medieval Times…
